PO-EM x Colorant NYC

PO-EM x Colorant NYC

Small-Batch Collaboration

I’m so excited to share a recent collaboration with our friends at Colorant NYC, a small, intentional collection of casual tops, pants, and dresses made from soft cotton silk. Each piece feels like a little work of art.

These garments are easy, relaxed, and made to be lived in. You’ll find soft tie waists, practical pockets, effortless tops, and a block-printed motif that mirrors front and back. The fabric has a tactile texture I love, with a subtle satin sheen that catches the light just right.

We kept the size run intentionally small, just a handful of each, because every piece goes through a slow, thoughtful, hands-on process.

The Process

Colorant painted each piece in-studio at Colorant using living colors — textile paints we created from Marigold, Cochineal, Mulberry, and Walnut. We used Guar Gum, a plant-based thickener, to give the paints their body and flow.

Each illustration from the PO-EM collection was hand-block printed, then painted by brush, layer by layer, in Colorant’s studio. The result is something expressive, personal, and beautifully imperfect.

This collaboration reflects what PO-EM is all about: celebrating the handmade, working with natural materials, and partnering with people who care deeply about their craft. We used non-toxic, plant-based dyes and cotton silk fabric to create something truly special.

I hope you enjoy wearing these pieces as much as we enjoyed making them.

Shop the collection now at thisiscolorant.com — available in limited quantities while they last.
